The Georgia medical malpractice site is intended to provide general background information to consumers and other lawyers about Georgia medical malpractice issues. It is not intended to be a substitute for obtaining legal advice from a qualified malpractice lawyer about your specific situation.
If you are a Georgia consumer looking for malpractice information then you should probably begin in the section on "MALPRACTICE QUESTIONS". If you want to know if you have a viable case, use the link "DO I HAVE A GOOD CASE?" and we will attempt to give you some basic information about your possible claim (at no charge and no obligation to you). In the "LINKS" section we have a collection of well indexed links to many medical and law related sites. Probably our most popular feature is "LOOK UP DOCTORS", from which you can find out how to get background information about your physician.
If you are looking for a lawyer to handle your medical malpractice case, our firm will accept medical malpractice cases throughout Georgia on a "no recovery no fee" basis. Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct require all lawyers who indicate they will not charge an attorney's fee if there is no recovery to conspicuously display the following disclaimer:
"No recovery no fee" refers only to fees charged by the attorney. Court costs and other additional expenses of the legal action usually must be paid by the client. Contingent fees are not permitted in all types of cases.
Contingent fees are permitted in medical malpractice cases. Our firm charges a reasonable percentage of the recovery if we win the case or obtain a favorable settlement, otherwise you owe us nothing at all for attorneys fees. We also will advance all court costs and other expenses of pursuing the case. If we obtain a recovery we get reimbursed from that, but if we fail to obtain a recovery you will owe us nothing for these costs or expenses either.
Please review additional information about our firm by clicking on "ABOUT US".
