Merk Manual
The Merk Manual is a very well known and popular general purpose medical reference book, now on line and searchable. It's useful for consumers, lawyers, and health care professionals.

National Cancer Institute
A great place to start for information about cancer.

Offering free unlimited Medline searches, this site is sponsored by the federal government and the prestigious National Institutes of Health.
